Massachusetts Institute of Technology Scholarships
MIT provides financial aid on the basis of financial needs only. The university doesn't award scholarships based on any measure of merit—academic, athletic, artistic, or anything else. International students are considered for aid using the same process that is used for domestic applicants. There are two steps to applying for aid
- Step 1: CSS Profile; a College Board tool that the university uses to assess if an applicant is eligible for a need-based MIT Scholarship.
- Step 2: Parental tax returns or income proof must be uploaded using the College Board's secure IDOC portal. In the case of international students, students must produce their original country's tax return, as well as a translation into English, if necessary.
