University of Western Australia is a well-known public university in the country. UWA is quite popular amongst international students. In 2021, more than 29,000 students secured admission to UWA. Students interested to apply at UWA need to have ~83-86% and an overall median ATAR score of 91.7. Dislikes

  • Weather Conditions - Summer in Perth is hot and dry. However, in the winter season, the city faces a lot of downpours and thunderstorms. As Indian students are usually accustomed to dry winters, they will have a tough time adjusting to this type of climate.

University of Western Australia Campus

  • The University of Western Australia has two campuses. UWA campus is full of cafes, clubs and sports & fitness accessories.
  • ?Clubs - The campus has more than 150 clubs run by student organizations. UWA also has an Indian club named ‘Sanskriti-Association for Indian Culture and Student Support’. This club features Indian culture and showcases its traditional art & crafts, classical yoga and authentic Indian cuisine.
  • Cafe - University of Western Australia campus has many budget-friendly cafes and eateries like - Business School Cafe, Dentistry Kiosk, Catalyst Cafe, Hackett Cafe, Nedlands Cafe and many more.
  • Sports - UWA hosts many sports events and university leagues. The campus has gym facilities but encourages students to engage in outer gym activities like social games too.

 

The main campus is located in Perth city and the other one is in Albany.

  • Perth Campus - Perth campus has more than 20,000 students and 3500+ staff. It is situated on the banks of River Swan. Perth has many cafés, libraries and galleries for students to enjoy in their free time. The campus also has sporting equipment available for the students.
  • UWA Albany - UWA Albany campus is situated in the city’s old post-office building, at a five hours driving distance from Perth. Students of this campus have the facility to attend the lectures of the Perth campus online. Along with facilities for students’ recreation, Albany campus also offers a magnificent view of the harbor.
